Boardman Shop Britannia Teapot, Hartford (c. 1840–1860)

American Britannia footed tea/coffee pot from the Hartford Boardman shop generation: four small feet, gooseneck spout, all-metal scroll handle, hinged lid, and a double-acorn-on-oak-leaves finial. Factory numbered 94 over 7 (pattern and size, not a date). The seated-lion ribbon is a documented Boardman touch; Kerfoot assigned it to the Hartford shop rather than New York or Philadelphia. As photographed, the ribbon letters read HOAREMAN. Worn BOARDMAN can look like HOAREMAN on the metal. A related Hartford pot is marked TD&SB / HARTFORD / 90 / 7 with the same acorn-lid language. This is later than the early (c. 1810–1825) Boardman teapots with eagle or TD & SB touch and wood handles.
